Herbal Remedies For Migraines

Sandy asks…

Has anyone found an herbal remedy for migraines that really works?

I’m tired of taking excederin. I think it is making me sick.

Wayne answers:

Something that often works for me [for headaches - migraines] is a cup of coffee – the key is the caffeine. The caffeine opens the capillaries [I believe].

If you are at home, I have also discovered a baked potato works pretty well. It may be the potassium or just “magic”, I don’t know or care. I just know that after a few hours of being sick to my stomach with migraine pain, I’ll force myself to eat a baked potato and I start feeling better.

You probably should start looking for triggers, too. I tend to get them certain times of my cycle. Especially if I eat chocolate. But cheese, wine and other foods can trigger migraines. Try to keep a journal, so you can figure out what’s causing them and prevent them.
